The Culture of Valid Cycles

The Culture of Valid Cycles

Customer Satisfaction | Environmentally Conscious | Socially Focused

Valid Cycles started on a lazy summer evening in 2009 in a garage in Santa Clara, California with these two guys, a hacksaw, some old bamboo, and a girlfriend’s unwanted bike. Since that day Justin and Evan have put their years of cycling, bike shop experience, and engineering knowledge to work to create their unique brand of bamboo bicycles.

Now located in beautiful Seattle, Valid Cycles is all about being a part of the community and supporting local business and talent (…and pubs). Each bike we build we consider to be a one-of-a-kind piece of functional art. At Valid Cycles there are no stock designs or bikes, we build to order every frame from the ground up and is as individual as the rider it’s make for.

Justin is a veteran bicycle mechanic, former collegiate downhill racer, artist, inventor, carpenter and all-around outdoorsman.

Being the big picture, visionary, entrepreneur of the group that Justin is, he never passes up the opportunity to tackle a new project or even multiple.

A graduate of the one and only Humboldt State University, it was destined from the first day that this guy was pretty much built to ride and be out in nature.

Evan has been an avid rider since he was thirteen, and a builder since before he can remember. His stated goal in life is to be able to build anything.

He studied mechanical engineering at Cal Poly Pomona, and keeps a sketchbook close for when the crazed industrial designer in him needs to organize his thoughts.

Like Justin, he is a craftsman never lacking in projects to occupy his time.

Hailing from the Music City, this southern gentleman moved to the PNW with a desire to innovate and give back. With a background in Business and Nonprofit Management and a passion for riding, Tyler brings the marketing and business development skills you see at Valid Cycles.

Tyler studied Marketing and Business Management at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN where he spearheaded several entrepreneurial endeavors including the startup of several nonprofit organizations.

Tyler’s passion is to see socially conscious business entrepreneurs bridge the gap between capitalism and philanthropy. When he’s not working you can find him hanging with his beautiful wife or riding his Valid Cycles bamboo bike.

We love building bikes, love getting to know our customers and
building community through cycling. We hope to get out on a
ride with you or share a pint at the pub sometime.

Cheers,

Justin, Evan & Tyler
