Green Mountain Grills had a list of needs with wanting to improve their existing app. Developed in 2014, the times have changed and so has UI design. Certain features were buggy and the user experience didn't make sense. It was difficult for them to find the right partner to tackle and consider all connections between their current technologies. Naturally at Fyresite, we took the chance to help solve these issues and this is where I come in.

Starting from the ground up, we reached out to community groups that are customers of Green Mountain Grills with daily active users of over 50,000 and sent over a survey to a sample of 300 users, ending up with a total of 203 responses. Asking the right questions was key to this project while learning everything about who disliked particular features and what mattered the most for an average-to-power user. While learning from people and their needs and values, we started finding patterns of behavior and areas of opportunity.
